Anytime students are designing and building tiny houses I’m happy because this means our future generations are exploring ways of making housing more affordable, smarter, and better for the environment.

That’s what students at Ohio State University did with the creation of the POD Home. I encourage you to watch the video below to learn more.

Video Tour

It took students three years to design and build this Pod House where it now stands at the Center of Science and Industry.

Another cool fact about the house is that it’s designed with SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels). This provides a strong shell with the best insulation possible.

The roof collects power from the sun using solar panels and it even collects, cleans and reuses grey water. The POD Home has also been apart of the education process at the OSU Solar Decathlon.
